class=\"uagb-heading-text\">The OptiGrader Planer optimization system<\/h2><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>The OptiGrader Planer is a planer optimizing system that checks the dimensions and grade of end products, optimizes the cutting process according to the grades and controls the end products&#8217; final sorting. The system is extremely well-suited for the cutting optimization in finger jointing lines.<br><br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-uagb-advanced-heading uagb-block-86d7a10d\"><h2 class=\"uagb-heading-text\">Accurate and reliable grading<\/h2><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>The system uses an advanced machine vision technology to identify the various timber defects and deviations, such as allowable wane, cup, bow and crook, twist, planer skip, knots, decay, pitch pockets, splits, grain density, slope of grain, and stains (blue, red, etc.).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Thanks to the OptiGrader Planer&#8217;s unique measurement technology, any non-planed areas can be identified in accordance with the surface roughness. The measurement technology is not based on direct measurements of thickness or width, instead the system detects any non-planed areas visually based on roughness, similar to human perception. The technology enables roughness detection even at the resolution of +\/-0.005mm. For example, this means that separate conveyor solutions or lateral transfers are not required. A matrix camera is used to measure the dimensions (1,000 images per second) and a true-color line-scan camera is used to measure the grade properties (4,000 images per second). The system identifies the grade factors with the aid of a machine vision application based on neurocomputing that simulates human brain activity. The system can be taught to identify new defect types with the aid of concrete images.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The application has been awarded the EC Vision Prize for the best cognitive machine vision system, which reflects Inx-Services&#8217; leadership in the development of self-learning measuring systems.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The image processing technology used by the system is patented.<br><br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-uagb-advanced-heading uagb-block-ef2a8c0a\"><h2 class=\"uagb-heading-text\">Office electronics is no match for this line of work<\/h2><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>The system electronics was designed for industrial conditions and the equipment processing power was dimensioned for machine vision applications that require massive computing power. This ensures the equipment reliability and the measurement accuracy, which cannot be achieved by computers that are designed for office purposes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The user interface complies with the specific needs of wood processing, providing a clear view of the production in progress.
